Having a desktop PC without fans is nearly impossible in this day and age. While some may attempt to find creative alternatives, one YouTuber known as Sodabaka took it to a whole new level by using centrifugal force to cool their PC. This unconventional approach may sound intriguing, but the results were far from practical.

Sodabaka started by placing an older Sandy Bridge era i5 2500K Mini-ITX system with a tower heatsink into a centrifuge, causing the entire PC to spin at around three revolutions per second. While this method may have seemed innovative, the PC quickly heated up to 100 degrees Celsius, leading to throttling. This clearly indicated that spinning the PC itself was not a viable cooling solution.

Undeterred by the initial failure, Sodabaka decided to try a larger Noctua NH-P1 passive cooler with and without a small fan attached. Despite the improvements, the temperatures still reached 100 degrees. The next attempt involved 3D-printing large fan blades attached to the motherboard tray and increasing the RPM of the Noctua cooler. Unfortunately, even with these creative solutions, the setup was far from effective and safe, as indicated by the need for a face mask and protective riot shield.

Ultimately, the force of the spinning NH-P1 cooler caused it to be flung off, resulting in the destruction of the PC. This entertaining experiment serves as a reminder that centrifugal force is not a practical or safe cooling method for PCs. While Sodabaka showcased creativity and humor in their video, it is evident that traditional fan cooling methods remain the most reliable option for PC cooling.

The use of centrifugal force to cool a PC may seem innovative and amusing, but it is neither effective nor practical. Sodabaka’s experiment highlights the risks and absurdity of attempting to replace traditional cooling methods with unconventional approaches. As PC enthusiasts continue to seek out unique solutions, it is essential to prioritize safety, efficiency, and reliability when it comes to cooling your system. Ultimately, while experimenting with new ideas can be entertaining, sticking to tried-and-true cooling solutions is the best way to maintain optimal performance and longevity for your PC.
