Upon entering the Checkpoint Rest Town in Dragon’s Dogma 2, players are faced with a crucial decision right from the start of the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest. They must choose between assisting Offulve or Everard in their quest to acquire the Jadeite Orb. Both characters have their own motives and rewards for completing the quest, leading players to weigh their options carefully.

The Jadeite Orb, a coveted item in the game, is not difficult to obtain. Players are directed to speak to a criminal who knows the whereabouts of stolen goods. This criminal can be found in Vernworth gaol, but skipping this step and heading straight to Ibrahim’s Scrap Store in the Checkpoint Rest Town proves to be a more efficient approach. Ibrahim offers to sell the Jadeite Orb for 7,500 gold, with the option to also purchase a forgery for an additional 2,000 gold.

After acquiring both the real Jadeite Orb and the forgery, players must decide who to give each item to. Giving Offulve the forgery results in a profitable outcome, earning players an Elite Camping Kit, 3,000 gold, and 1,000 XP. On the other hand, giving Everard the real Jadeite Orb yields a higher monetary reward of 12,000 gold and a Ring of Skulduggery, which boosts damage when attacking from behind. However, this decision comes at the cost of betraying Offulve, highlighting the moral dilemma players face in this quest.

While Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not feature a clear-cut morality system, players must consider the consequences of their actions in the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest. Choosing to deceive Offulve for personal gain may lead to guilt or regret, despite the lack of immediate repercussions. On the other hand, opting to help Everard may result in a more lucrative outcome, but at the expense of betraying a character who trusted you.

In addition to the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest, players can also take on other quests in the Checkpoint Rest Town and Vernworth. Completing quests such as Prey for the Pack and Saint of the Slums can provide additional rewards and opportunities for players to immerse themselves in the game’s world and storytelling.

Ultimately, the decision of whether to prioritize personal gain or loyalty to a character rests in the hands of the player. The Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest forces players to confront ethical dilemmas and consider the consequences of their actions, adding depth and complexity to the gaming experience in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
