Lego enthusiasts and Legend of Zelda fans alike were ecstatic when Lego finally unveiled its first Legend of Zelda set last month. The Danish toy giant’s homage to two of the most iconic Legend of Zelda games, Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, comes in the form of a massive Great Deku Tree two-in-one building set. With an impressive 2,500 pieces, the set promises to bring to life the essence of these beloved games with intricate details and cool features.

The Great Deku Tree set is a Store-exclusive release priced at $300, scheduled to hit the shelves on September 1. The initial batch of preorders sold out quickly, but Lego is once again taking orders as of June 4. To ensure you get your hands on this set sooner rather than later, securing a preorder before shipping dates are pushed back is highly recommended. As of now, orders received “will ship from September 1,” allowing fans to still experience the magic of the Great Deku Tree close to its launch date.

Included in the set are minifigures of Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild Links, Princess Zelda, as well as brick-built characters like Koroks, Deku Babas, Deku Sprout, Navi the Fairy, Skulltula, and a maracas-shaking Hestu. The finished build of the Great Deku Tree showcases the best of both worlds, with the Breath of the Wild version featuring an animated face controllable by a lever on its back, while the Ocarina of Time version boasts an opening mouth revealing a Skulltula monster.

For even more immersive gameplay, the set includes a Lego version of Link’s House and the Master Sword pedestal, each offering a separate building experience that can be displayed alongside the main set. Lego’s choice of the Great Deku Tree for this set was intentional, serving as a bridge between generations of Legend of Zelda fans while highlighting the versatility of Lego bricks. Lego design master Wes Talbott expressed this sentiment, stating that the set aims to offer a nostalgic journey through the game’s history while acknowledging its more current iteration.

In addition to the Legend of Zelda set, Lego offers a variety of other exciting sets for fans to explore. From the iconic Millennium Falcon from Star Wars priced at $136 to a wall-art-building kit of The Milky Way Galaxy for $200, there’s no shortage of options for Lego enthusiasts. For space enthusiasts, NASA’s Artemis Space Launch System set is available for $260, providing a thrilling building experience. And for fans of adventure, an adorable Indiana Jones diorama set is currently on sale for just $127 at Walmart.

The Lego Legend of Zelda set is a true testament to the creativity and nostalgia that Lego and video game fans alike can appreciate. With its attention to detail, diverse minifigure selection, and unique gameplay features, this set is a must-have for any avid collector. So whether you’re a die-hard Legend of Zelda fan or simply enjoy building Lego sets, the Great Deku Tree set is sure to capture your imagination and transport you to the magical world of Hyrule.
