Nintendo has once again updated the file size of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the official game page, reducing it from around 18GB to about 16GB, making it no longer the “biggest” digital release on the system. The eShop listings in the US, Japan, and other regions say that it will require around 15.9GB of free space. However, this is subject to change before the game’s release on May 12th.

Size comparison and price

Compared to Link’s original Switch outing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (which was 14.4GB), Tears of the Kingdom is still officially the bigger game of the two. Nonetheless, it is still a relatively large file size, with other recent games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 only taking up about 14GB.

The price of Tears of the Kingdom will be raised by $10, making it cost $69.99 USD. Nintendo has mentioned that it will not make this a trend, and it is decided on a case-by-case basis. Regardless, gamers are sure to get their money’s worth with this newest addition to the Zelda franchise.
