After a successful Steam playtest, executive producer Kris Kwok of Amazing Seasun Games has made a clear statement that “pay-to-win” elements will not be a part of the upcoming mech action game Mecha Break. Kwok reassured players that the developers are committed to ensuring a level playing field for all participants. Despite initially being available only on Steam, Mecha Break is set to expand to other platforms such as PS5 and Xbox Series X in the near future.

In a recent video posted on Twitter, Kwok delves into the customization options available in Mecha Break. Players will have the ability to modify their Striker mechs using mods that can tweak various stats. This customization allows players to tailor their mechs to suit their preferred combat style and pacing. Kwok emphasizes that the goal is for players to discover their “sweet spots” with their favorite mechs through these mods.

Contrary to concerns about potential pay-to-win mechanics, Kwok clarifies that the primary focus of the business model for Mecha Break will be on cosmetics rather than gameplay advantages. Both mods and cosmetics can be obtained through the tactical extraction Mashmak mode, a 3v3 PvEvP mode set on a large map. This means that players will have the opportunity to acquire mods by defeating bosses and NPCs, leading to a more balanced and skill-based progression system.

The announcement of Mecha Break’s commitment to fair play and emphasis on customization options has garnered a positive response from the gaming community. Fans have already begun referring to the game as “Mecha Peak” on platforms like Reddit, indicating a high level of excitement and anticipation for its release. While the game’s potential to become a standout title in the action genre remains to be seen, the growing popularity and positive feedback suggest that Mecha Break has the potential to make a significant impact.

Mecha Break’s promise of fair play and dedication to providing a balanced gameplay experience sets it apart from other titles in the genre. With a strong emphasis on customization and a commitment to avoiding pay-to-win mechanics, the game aims to create an engaging and rewarding experience for all players. As the development of Mecha Break continues and its release on additional platforms approaches, the future looks promising for this mech action game.
