The anticipation for Fallout 5 continues to build as Bethesda takes their time in releasing any information. With the significant delay in releasing The Elder Scrolls 6 (almost thirteen years since Skyrim), fans are left wondering when they will get to experience the next installment of the Fallout series. This slow progress leaves fans eager for any type of content related to the Fallout universe.

In a bid to capitalize on popular licenses, Call of Duty has recently partnered with the Fallout series. Following in the footsteps of Fortnite, which introduced Fallout skins, Call of Duty has rolled out its own crossover with Fallout. However, this collaboration seems lackluster compared to the rich and engaging world of Fallout, as it only offers the opportunity to dress your characters in vault dweller jumpsuits.

The Fallout Vault Dweller tracer pack includes over 15 items, such as Fallout-themed gun blueprints for a “Vault-Tec Approved” M16 and an “Atomic Disintegrator” HRM-9. Additionally, players can access charms, a calling card, decal, emblem, sticker, and loading screens. These items can be utilized in Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile. An upcoming in-game Vault Dwellers event will provide even more goodies, including gun camos and charms, from June 20th to June 26th.

While some fans may appreciate the opportunity to venture into battle in vault dweller jumpsuits, the collaboration between Fallout and Call of Duty seems like a missed opportunity. Instead of delving into the rich lore, unique creatures, and satirical take on 1950s America that Fallout is known for, the partnership falls short with a mere cosmetic change for characters. The excitement for a true integration of the Fallout universe into a game like Call of Duty remains unmet with this limited offering.

The Fallout and Call of Duty collaboration, while providing fans with some new cosmetic items, fails to truly capture the essence of the Fallout universe. With the potential for a deeper integration of Fallout’s rich world and engaging storyline, this partnership leaves much to be desired for fans eagerly awaiting Fallout 5.
