In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players have been encountering a new and deadly illness known as Dragonsplague. This illness can have devastating consequences on your gameplay, leading to the death of not only your party members but also important NPCs in the game. It is important to understand what Dragonsplague is, how to spot it, and how to cure it in order to avoid catastrophe.

Dragonsplague is a mysterious illness that can only be contracted by Pawns in the game. It is not recorded in the pawn’s Status, and afflicted pawns remain entirely unaware of their condition. The illness will fester in Pawns over time, eventually leading to the pawn transforming into a shadow dragon and exploding, causing massive destruction and death to those nearby. This can have a catastrophic impact on your gameplay, as the loss of party members and key NPCs can hinder progression in quests.

Spotting Dragonsplague

One of the key ways to prevent a Dragonsplague explosion is to pay attention when the in-game pop-up appears warning of the illness. Ignoring this warning can lead to travelling with an infected companion without realizing it until it’s too late. In addition to the pop-up, players can also spot Dragonsplague in the eyes of their pawns. Infected pawns will have a light red ring around their eyes, along with other signs such as swaying, coughing, or strange behavior. It is important to heed these signs and take action promptly to prevent disaster.

There are two main methods to cure Dragonsplague in the game. The first method is to dismiss the pawn with Dragonsplague or allow them to die in battle, as long as none of your other pawns are infected. If your main pawn is infected, you will need to kill them and then bring them back via the Riftstone in order to cure them. Alternatively, if your main pawn is infected, they can be cured if they are hired by another player. This will pass on the disease to the other player’s pawn while also curing your own. It may seem harsh, but it is necessary to prevent the spread of Dragonsplague in the game.

Dealing with the Aftermath

If you have accidentally killed essential townsfolk due to Dragonsplague, there are ways to remedy the situation without ruining your save file. You can wait a few in-game days for important NPCs to revive (some may remain dead) or search for Wakestones to resurrect them. However, Wakestones are rare and not easily obtained, so this may not be the most efficient solution. The best approach to dealing with Dragonsplague is to learn more about it, watch for signs of infection, avoid high-density areas, and cure your Pawns promptly to prevent catastrophe in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragonsplague is a dangerous threat in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that can have severe consequences if left untreated. By understanding the illness, spotting the signs, and taking swift action to cure infected pawns, players can avoid disaster and ensure a smoother gameplay experience. It is crucial to stay vigilant and proactive in dealing with Dragonsplague to prevent devastation in the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
