Depending on the outcome of the Arisen’s Shadow quest, players will either receive a Beastren version of the permit, which necessitates being a Beastren or wearing a mask as a human, or a merchant version that is more flexible in terms of race. However, there is also an alternative route available for those who seek a more adventurous and perilous path.
Official Route: Navigating the Checkpoint
For those who prefer to take the official route to Battahl, progressing through the main story with Captain Brant until completing the Feast of Deception quest is essential. Following this, conversing with him again in the Vernworth Tavern at night will lead to the acquisition of either a Merchant’s Border Entry Permit or a Beastren Border Entry Permit, depending on the player’s choices in the Arisen’s Shadow quest. If one is not a Beastren and has acquired the Beastren Permit, a Beastren Mask can be purchased from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop in the North of the Checkpoint Rest Town. Equipping the mask allows the Beastren Permit to be utilized as a human. Once the necessary permit and any additional items are obtained, taking the Oxcart in the Northwest side of Vernworth to the Checkpoint Rest Town and presenting the permit to the guard at the huge gate is the final step in reaching Battahl through official channels.
Survivalist Route: The Perilous Secret Path
Those who crave adventure or wish to bypass the official procedures can opt for the secret path that leads to the Battahl region. This hidden route can be found on the banks of the river above the Checkpoint Rest Town. By following the river’s edge to the West, a tunnel can be discovered by climbing up some rocks. Further climbing will unveil a risen path that meanders along the challenging route filled with formidable foes such as Saurians, red wolves, a cyclops, two minotaurs, zombies, and a terrifying Chimera. While the path is straightforward, players must be prepared to engage in fierce battles or strategically evade the dangers along the way. Upon successfully navigating through the treacherous path, the desert region of Battahl will be unveiled, offering an entirely new area to explore.
