The Future Games Show Summer Showcase Powered by Intel has released a new trailer for SteamWorld Build. The gameplay segment showcased the creative fun players will have while constructing their own mining town in the game. SteamWorld Build will be released later this year and the trailer gave a glimpse of the various building types, including homes, factories, mining equipment, and train systems that players can connect to create their town.

Recreational Spaces and Objectives

The trailer also showed recreational spaces that players can add to their town such as rollercoasters, ferris wheels, theme park rides, and drive-in cinemas. The game’s main objective is to dig up old technology that should prove vital to escaping the dying planet you’ve built your town on. However, players will have to balance meeting the needs of their citizens, building trading routes, and defending themselves from mysterious beings that lurk in the depths below the surface, including glowing-eyed skulls.

Gameplay Features

SteamWorld Build will ship with five destinations that will take at least 10-15 hours to clear. The game’s city-building side is streamlined to focus on the mining element, which is just as important. The developers have purposely made the city a bit simpler, making sure that if players have a functioning city, they can go down in the mine and focus there without being afraid of there being a fire in the city. If everything is functioning in the city when players leave, it should be functioning when they return.

SteamWorld Build will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Players can wishlist the game on Steam now.
