Sea of Stars, a beautiful Japanese role-playing game (JRPG), has been inspired by the classic SNES games like Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG. This new game is arriving on Game Pass on launch day. The game has a unique timed attack combat system and an unshackled traversal system that lets players swim, climb, vault, jump off, and scale ledges. The game also includes plenty of relaxing side activities like sailing, cooking, fishing, and listening to music in a chill tavern. Overall, it appears that there is a lot going on in Sea of Stars and it has all been fully and lovingly realized.

A Stunning 2.5D World

What initially strikes players about Sea of Stars is the stunning 2.5D world. The game takes place in the same world as developer Sabotage’s The Messenger and manages to feel both fresh and nostalgic. The “dynamic lighting effects pair with a world-influencing day/night cycle to make every area feel truly alive, pushing the traditional visual limits of classically stylized 2D pixel art games – the only way to properly tell the story of heroes conjuring the powers of the Sun and the Moon.”

A Free Demo on Switch

Sea of Stars recently got an August 29 release date and a free demo on Switch. The demo only takes a couple of hours to play through but it makes an absurdly promising first impression. The game is launching on PS5 and PS4 as well as Xbox consoles, Switch, and PC.

Sea of Stars is a stunning and unique JRPG with a beautiful 2.5D world and a range of activities for players to enjoy. With its timed attack combat system and unshackled traversal system, the game is sure to provide players with hours of entertainment. The game is set to release on August 29 and will be available on a range of platforms. If the free demo is anything to go by, Sea of Stars will be a highly anticipated release for fans of the JRPG genre.
