OLED display technology has always been known for its stunning visuals, but it comes with its fair share of problems. Two of the most prominent issues include limited full-screen brightness and panel degradation, commonly known as burn-in. LG’s WOLED panels feature an all-white OLED emission layer that passes through RGB filters, while Samsung utilizes an all-blue OLED emission that excites an RGB quantum dot layer. LG’s new Dream OLED panel technology is currently undergoing production evaluation and could potentially be commercialized within the year. While the manufacturing process may begin soon, it will take some time before PC monitors or TVs featuring the new panels become available to consumers.
