MultiVersus, the licensed kitchen sink fighting game, is making a comeback next week after a prolonged hiatus following its beta release. The developers made the bold decision to remove the game from sale and shut down its servers, leaving players who had invested real money in unlocking various features without any refunds. However, in an effort to make amends, Player First Games has announced that they will allow beta players to access the first season’s premium battle pass at no additional cost. This means that players can unlock coveted characters like Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th without having to spend any money.
Enhanced Value
In order to reassure players investing in the battle pass, the developers have promised an increased number of “high-value” items across both the free and premium passes. These items include ringouts, alternate characters, taunts, and the in-game currency of Gleamium. By progressing through the battle pass, players can earn enough Gleamium to cover the cost of the next pass, essentially allowing them to pay once and continue unlocking content through gameplay.
Beta players will receive additional rewards, such as a costume for Adventure Time’s Finn the Human and a special ringout animation. Additionally, fans of Adventure Time will have the opportunity to unlock the Banana Guard as a playable character by completing a tutorial track over the course of seven days. Completing the reward calendar will also grant players access to Lady Banana Guard, adding a unique twist to the character roster. For those who participated in the open beta, there is the option to switch the announcer to a Banana Guard voice pack, adding a touch of humor to the gameplay experience.
To claim these rewards, players must log in to the free-to-play MultiVersus between the relaunch date on May 28th and June 11th. As revealed by early reviews, MultiVersus shows promise as a formidable contender in the world of PC fighting games, particularly for fans of Warner Bros IP.
The revamped rewards system in MultiVersus aims to provide players with a more rewarding and engaging experience, with a focus on generosity and value. By offering beta players exclusive benefits and introducing new content, the developers are working towards re-establishing trust and excitement within the community. With the relaunch just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how these changes enhance the overall gameplay experience for both new and returning players.
