Gale and the Netherese Orb
In Baldur’s Gate 3, players have the opportunity to interact with a character named Gale. Through gameplay and character development, Gale eventually gains the ability to use the Netherese Orb, a powerful magical artifact. While the Orb’s spell does not manifest in combat, it does allow players to unleash an explosion in two prescribed sections of the game.
The first option to detonate the explosion occurs near the end of Act Two. Choosing this option results in the explosion taking out Gale, the main antagonists, and the entire player’s party. As a consequence, Act Three of the game becomes completely unplayable, abruptly ending the player’s journey.
However, there is a second option that comes up during the final boss fight. If players choose this option, Gale sacrifices himself, but the story continues with the remaining party members. This alternative allows for a more satisfying conclusion to the game.
Unfortunately, the Explosive Gale Facebook group is private, so it is unclear whether the members of baldurawka will be blowing up Gale in Act Two or Act Three. Nevertheless, this event certainly adds an unexpected and fiery twist to their New Year’s Eve celebration.
