Meta is set to launch new features on its social apps, including AI-generated stickers on Messenger. The company’s vice president of AI, Ahmad Al-Dahle, announced during a companywide meeting that the feature will allow users to create stickers based on text prompts.
AI-Generated Stickers
The new feature will allow users to have more options for self-expression, cultural representations, and trend relevance. The AI-generated stickers will be tested internally before they are made available to the public. The feature will leverage Meta’s image generation model, which uses generative AI technology.
Transformation of Images
Aside from stickers, Meta is also working on AI models that will allow users to transform any image they want in any way they want. The models will be able to change the aspect ratio of a picture or turn a picture of a corgi into a painting. The company will continue to explore AI technology to improve its social apps.
Meta’s AI Goals
Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced earlier this year that the company has a team dedicated to building tools powered by AI. The company aims to bring AI agents to billions of people, including generative AI features on WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram. Meta also recently announced a new open-source AI model that combines text, audio, visual, movement, thermal, and depth data.
