LG has recently launched its newest addition to the Gram line of laptops, the Gram SuperSlim, which is designed to be ultra-thin and lightweight. The laptop is being marketed as a strong competitor to Apple’s MacBook Air due to its portability and high-quality display.

The Thinnest LG Gram Ever

According to LG’s press release, the Gram SuperSlim is the thinnest LG Gram ever, measuring just 0.43 inches thick. This makes it even thinner than the M2 MacBook Air, which is a testament to LG’s commitment to producing ultra-portable laptops. Additionally, the SuperSlim features a 15.6-inch OLED display, which is larger than the MacBook Air’s 13.6-inch IPS display. The laptop is also lighter than the MacBook Air, weighing in at just 2.2 pounds.

Pricing and Specs

The Gram SuperSlim is available now and starts at $1,699.99. This base model comes with a 13th-gen Intel Evo Core i7-1360P processor, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The laptop also has three USB-C ports, two of which support Thunderbolt 4, and one USB 4 only, as well as a headphone jack. The higher-end model, priced at $1,999.99, has a spec bump to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. LG is also offering an external USB-C 16-inch +view Portable monitor for free if either of the new SuperSlims is purchased by May 14th.

The Bottom Line

While the SuperSlim has an OLED screen, the currently-available models only have a 1080p resolution. In comparison, Apple’s MacBook Air has a higher 2560 x 1664 resolution screen, which still looks great even if it’s not OLED. Nonetheless, for the price point set by LG, prospective buyers should expect more from the SuperSlim. However, the laptop’s size and weight, combined with its high-quality display, make it a strong contender in the ultraportable laptop market. LG first showcased the SuperSlim at CES earlier this year, alongside the rest of its Gram lineup, including the company’s regular 14, 15, 16, and 17-inch options, as well as the colorful and lightweight LG Gram Style laptops, which also have an OLED screen and a starting weight of 2.2 pounds.
