Developers of No Rest For The Wicked have been working tirelessly to address the performance issues that plagued the game when it was launched in Steam Early Access. While performance improvements are still in the works, the first hotfix has already been deployed.
One of the key focuses of the recent update is on improving the balance of the game and refining its core systems. Some of the changes include reducing durability damage taken to gear, lowering repair costs, increasing the drop rate on Repair Powders, as well as reducing stamina costs and fall damage. Additionally, adjustments have been made to the Cerim Crucible boss and the starting tier of the Corpse-Smeared Blade.
In an effort to enhance the player experience, more weapons have been introduced into Fillmore’s Pre-Sacrament Loot Table. However, to maintain a sense of challenge, the drop rate of Fallen Embers has been reduced.
Stability and Bug Fixes
The latest update also includes fixes to stability issues, such as addressing a crash that occurred when quitting out to the main menu. Bug fixes have been implemented to improve inventory navigation and ensure that players do not miss essential jumps in areas like the Potion Seller Cave. Additionally, out of bounds areas have been blocked off and lingering dev tools have been removed.
User Feedback
Upon reviewing user feedback on Steam, it became apparent that durability and repair costs were significant pain points for players. This was somewhat surprising, considering that No Rest For The Wicked caters to fans of dodge-roll melee combat. The development team is committed to addressing these concerns and making the necessary adjustments to create a more balanced and enjoyable gaming experience.
In the pipeline are further improvements, including remappable controls, to provide players with greater flexibility and customization options. Moon Studios has also acknowledged a list of known issues and is actively working on solutions to enhance the overall gameplay experience. Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as No Rest For The Wicked continues its journey through Early Access.
