The Nintendo Switch Online subscription offers access to a variety of classic Nintendo games, including some exclusive titles that are only available in Japan. To get access to these Japan-only games, you will need to create a Japanese Nintendo Switch account. Start by visiting accounts.nintendo.com and creating a new account with a different email address from your regular account. When filling out the information, be sure to set the region to Japan.

Once you have created your Japanese Nintendo Switch account, sign into it on your console. Head to the settings and users section on your Nintendo Switch to create a new profile. Give the profile a nickname and picture, then link your newly created Japanese account to it. This will allow you to access the Japanese eShop.

Open the eShop with your new Japanese account and you will be directed to the Japanese eShop. While most of the shop will be in Japanese, the section you need to find is usually labeled in English. Look for the “Nintendo Switch Online” option in the main menu on the left side of the screen. Here, you will find the classic console collections listed out, including the Japan-only games like Mother 3 for the Game Boy Advance.

Simply select the games you want to download, such as Mother 3, and proceed with the download. Once the games are downloaded, return to the main menu of your Nintendo Switch. The process is the same for any of the different collections you wish to download.

After downloading the Japan-only Nintendo Switch Online games, open them from the main menu of your Switch. Make sure to select your main account when opening the games, as an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to play them. Enjoy playing these exclusive games, even if the games and menus are in Japanese.

By creating a Japanese Nintendo Switch account and accessing the Japanese eShop, you can unlock a whole new world of classic Nintendo games that are only available in Japan. Take advantage of this opportunity to play titles like Mother 3 and other exclusive games on your Nintendo Switch.
