Hi-Fi Rush, developed by Tango Gameworks, is receiving an Arcade Challenge update next month with two new modes. The first mode, Power Up, Tower Up, is an innovative twist on the Rhythm Tower game mode. In this mode, players must advance through a series of fights without a timer, but with the drawback of starting with no abilities and a small health pool. Between each fight, players can choose from random rewards to regain their abilities. However, some of these rewards come with a twist, such as increasing enemy damage for the next wave. The mode is similar to the boons from primordial Chaos in Hades.

The second mode, BPM Rush, challenges players to stay on beat while the tempo increases from the standard 124 BPM to 200 BPM. The mode is designed for players who want a more challenging experience.

New Special Attacks: CNMN and Smidge the Tutorial Fridge

The update also introduces two new special attacks featuring CNMN, a distinguished robot, and Smidge, the tutorial fridge. The attacks are unique as they use non-combatant characters as weapons, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game.

Arcade Challenge Update Release Date

The Arcade Challenge update, which also includes new cosmetics and photo mode stickers, will be released on July 5th. Hi-Fi Rush was previously featured in the RPS Game Club in March, where it received well-deserved attention for its photo mode and canteen fight scene.

Overall, the new modes and special attacks are expected to provide a fresh and exciting experience for players. The Power Up, Tower Up mode offers a new twist on the traditional Rhythm Tower game mode, while the BPM Rush mode provides a more challenging option for players who want to test their skills. The addition of new special attacks featuring non-combatant characters adds an extra layer of excitement to the game. The Arcade Challenge update, along with its new features, is set to be released on July 5th, so players can look forward to experiencing the new modes and special attacks soon.
