Capcom has announced that a free demo for Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is now available on Steam. The game is set to be fully released on June 30th. The demo allows players to solve the first two murder puzzles in the game and gives them a glimpse into the world of Ghost Trick.

One of the standout features of Ghost Trick is its main character, Missile the Pomeranian. He is widely regarded as one of the best dogs in video games. In the game, players take on the role of a disemodied spirit who can manipulate objects within arm’s reach. The game is filled with characterful animations and runs at a smooth 60fps frame rate.

The Demo

The demo consists of two murder puzzles: one involving the player’s own murder, and one involving Missile’s owner, Kamila. Players are taught the basics of the game, including how to hop into different objects and perform tricks on trickable objects. These tricks include opening a fridge door, ringing a bicycle bell, and operating a wrecking ball lever.

Players need to watch their timing, figure out the right sequence of events, and ultimately save the day by getting Missile to bark incessantly at a doughnut. The demo maintains the original 4:3 aspect ratio of the Nintendo DS version, with the minute glass and X minutes to death displayed on either side of the screen.

The Remaster

The new HD remaster of Ghost Trick maintains the original aspect ratio of the Nintendo DS version. While some players may have preferred a full 16:9 aspect ratio, the minute glass and X minutes to death display is a useful addition. The remaster allows the characterful animations of the game to look even better than they did on the tiny DS screens of yore.

Overall, the demo for Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a real treat for gamers. It gives players a glimpse into the world of Ghost Trick and allows them to solve the first two murder puzzles in the game. The game is filled with characterful animations and runs at a smooth 60fps frame rate. The new HD remaster maintains the original aspect ratio of the Nintendo DS version and allows the animations of the game to look even better.
