Moon Studios, known for their visually stunning Metroidvanias Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, has taken a completely different approach with their latest game, No Rest For The Wicked. This upcoming title is a Diablo-style action roleplaying game, showcasing a departure from their previous projects while still maintaining the signature art style that fans have come to love.

Scheduled to enter Steam’s early access on April 18, No Rest For The Wicked introduces players to a dark fantasy land where they control a magical holy warrior on a mission to eradicate plagued beasties through brutal and precision-based combat. The emphasis here is on intimate fights rather than overwhelming hordes, setting it apart from traditional Diablo gameplay.

In addition to the intense combat, players will also have the opportunity to rebuild a central settlement, purchase real estate, and decorate houses to their liking. The game promises an array of weapons, gear, skills, and crafting options for players to experiment with different builds. The early access version will include the opening chapter of the campaign, side quests, and various challenges to keep players engaged.

Moon Studios has ambitious plans for No Rest For The Wicked’s development during the early access phase. They intend to incorporate four-player co-op, additional regions, a farming mechanic, and more content to enrich the gaming experience. While the game is initially launching on PC, it is also set to be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in the future.

With Gamesradar’s preview describing No Rest For The Wicked as “mesmerizing,” the game has already garnered significant excitement within the gaming community. As players eagerly await its early access release, the positive reception and promising features suggest a bright future for Moon Studios’ venture into the action RPG genre.
