Sony’s new hero shooter, Concord, is currently in beta testing for those who have pre-ordered the game or are subscribed to PlayStation Plus. The beta is available on PC through Steam and will run until July 14th. However, for those who have not pre-ordered or subscribed, there will be a second beta open to everyone from July 18th to the 21st. This gives players a chance to experience the game before its official release.

Concord is a 5v5 multiplayer first-person shooter that follows the adventures of space mercenaries similar to those seen in Guardians Of The Galaxy. The game features a diverse cast of characters, including a green alien, a heavy robot, and a character named Star Child. Each character comes with unique abilities, such as jumpjets, hover abilities, and magic powers. In terms of weapons, players can expect hitscan weapons like machine guns, sniper rifles, and pistols, as well as ground pounds and fireballs for added excitement.

Concord is being developed by Firewalk, a new first-party Sony studio. While some players may draw comparisons to other popular hero shooters like Overwatch and Valorant, Concord offers its own unique blend of gameplay mechanics and characters. The game is set to release on August 23rd, giving players plenty of time to experience the beta and decide if Concord is the right fit for them.

As someone who may be hesitant to jump into another hero shooter, Concord offers a fresh take on the genre with its sci-fi setting and diverse cast of characters. While some may question the similarities to other games, it’s clear that Firewalk is bringing their own unique vision to the table. Whether you’re a fan of competitive shooters or just looking for something new to try, Concord is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Be sure to check out the beta system requirements on Steam to see if your PC can handle the action.
