The much-awaited RPG game Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will not be ready for release until after 2023, according to the latest Q4 and FY23 financial report released by its publisher, EA. The report does not specifically mention the game, but it does include a list of upcoming titles that will be released by the company before March 31, 2024, with no indication of Dreadwolf. The list includes Immortals of Aveum, Super Mega Baseball 4, Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, F1, Madden 24 and NHL 24, and a relaunch of the FIFA brand called EA Sports FC. The company has also included two unannounced titles, one of which is said to be a racing game, while the other is another EA Sports title.

Although the financial report does not explicitly state why Dreadwolf was not mentioned, it is safe to assume that the game’s release date will be after 2023. Financial reports are typically investor-facing and serve as an indicator of the company’s future success. This news will undoubtedly disappoint fans of the Dragon Age franchise who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Dreadwolf.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf – A Massive Undertaking

Developer BioWare has been relatively transparent about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, giving fans glimpses of the game’s progress through teaser trailers, cinematics, blog posts, and comments from development leaders. The game has been touted as a massive undertaking, and in late 2022, BioWare confirmed that it had achieved its alpha milestone with a basic playable build that functioned from beginning to end.

In December 2022, a cinematic detailing the story of antagonist Solas was released, building up hype around his role in the Dreadwolf story. However, updates about the game have been scarce since a leak of alpha gameplay footage in early 2023. BioWare is likely hard at work on polishing and refining the game, which will undoubtedly be a highly anticipated release when it eventually hits the market.
