Blizzard Rod Fergusson recently tweeted that the most played class in Diablo 4 is the Sorcerer, which is surprising since it currently sits at the bottom of the class rankings. The Rogue, which is currently at the top of the tier list, was expected to be the fan favorite. However, it seems that players are enjoying casting ice shards and lightning bolts with the Sorcerer more than any other class.

Other Potential Top Contenders

The Rogue and Barbarian have been dominating Diablo 4’s end-game, but both received nerfs over the early access launch weekend. Despite the balancing patch, they still feel viable. The Necromancer is another possible contender for the top spot, even though it ranks low on the tier list. It’s hard not to love exploding corpses in classic Diablo fashion.

Exploding Demons in the Best Ways Possible

While the Sorcerer may not have the same meta potential as other classes, it’s still a Diablo game, and everything is meant to be able to battle demons and make them explode into tiny giblets. To help players achieve this goal, there are build guides available for the Ice Sorcerer, Fire Sorcerer, and Lightning Sorcerer, as well as every other class.

Despite some server issues, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 is their fastest-selling game ever. It’s likely that the Sorcerer’s popularity will continue to rise as more players join the game.

While the Sorcerer’s popularity may be surprising, it’s still a valid choice for players looking to defeat demons in their own explosive way. It’s also worth noting that Diablo 4’s end-game is constantly evolving, and other classes may rise or fall in popularity depending on balance changes and player preferences. So, if you haven’t tried the Sorcerer yet, give it a shot and see if you can cast your way to victory.
