Despite the good news of Atooi’s Jools Watsham announcing the completion of development for Hatch Tales on the Nintendo Switch in a recent Kickstarter update, there is still some bad news looming. The game is now facing yet another “last minute delay” due to a whirlwind of activity this month.
Even though the developer is now “on the cusp” of submitting the game to Nintendo for its “final approval”, fans are left in anticipation as they eagerly await another update regarding the release date. Watsham has promised to keep backers informed as soon as they receive the green light from Nintendo.
Originally slated for release on 23rd August 2024, Hatch Tales has unfortunately faced another setback. Watsham has apologized for the delay and understands that fans may find this last-minute delay frustrating. Despite this, the team remains grateful for the patience and support shown by the community.
For those interested in getting a sneak peek at the game’s progress, a “developer deep dive” was shared back in June. This deep dive showcased the first six levels of Hatch Tales and gave fans a glimpse into what they can expect from the game. Additionally, a bonus “Chibi-Mudds” level inspired by Mutant Mudds was also teased in the latest update to backers.
Hatch Tales, formerly known as ‘Chicken Wiggle Workshop’, has been in development for over six years. The Kickstarter project, which was initially crowdfunded in early 2018 with an estimated delivery date of December 2018, has faced multiple delays over the years. The project has been plagued with setbacks, much to the dismay of eager fans eagerly awaiting its release.
The development and release of Hatch Tales on the Nintendo Switch continues to face challenges and setbacks. Despite the completion of development, the game’s journey to final approval from Nintendo has hit yet another roadblock. The team at Atooi remains committed to delivering a polished and engaging experience to fans, and we can only hope that the wait will be worth it in the end.
