Capcom has recently revealed plans to address the Dragonsplague afflictions in Dragon’s Dogma 2 through an upcoming major update. The studio aims to make the gaming experience more manageable for players by making significant tweaks to the Dragonsplague mechanic. The update will not only focus on reducing the frequency of Dragonsplague infections but also on making the signs of Pawns infected with Dragonsplague more noticeable.
The announcement of these Dragonsplague adjustments comes as a relief to players who have been struggling with the infection in the game. With the upcoming update, players will have a clearer indication of when a Pawn is infected with Dragonsplague, making recruitment decisions less risky. Additionally, there will be fewer infected Pawns in the Rift, alleviating some of the fears associated with interacting with other players’ Pawns.
While the changes aim to mitigate the impact of Dragonsplague, dealing with infected Pawns will still pose a challenge. Players will need to take prompt action to address the condition of infected Pawns before they cause harm to nearby towns. Options for dealing with infected Pawns include dismissing them, allowing them to die in battle, or purposefully killing them using various methods such as dunking them in water.
In addition to the Dragonsplague adjustments, the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2 patch will introduce new features and fixes to enhance the overall gameplay experience. Players can look forward to zoom options for viewing Arisen and Pawn faces, as well as improvements to the game’s mini-map, escort quests, and jail mechanics. Furthermore, changes to Pawn behavior and dialogue will be implemented to make them smarter and less prone to making fatal mistakes.
Release Details
According to Capcom, the new game update is scheduled for release on PC and consoles in April 2024. While an exact release date has not been confirmed yet, the development team is hard at work refining the tweaks and fixes to ensure a smooth rollout. Players are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates and announcements regarding the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2 update.
