Bandai Namco has announced the return of Hwoarang to the Tekken 8 roster. The Korean Taekwondo practitioner was introduced in Tekken 3. Hwoarang was revealed at the Korean gaming convention PlayX4 2023 in Seoul. A new trailer showcased Hwoarang’s fighting style, which is characterized by rigid kicks and spins.

Hwoarang’s new outfit designed by Super Hiroaki

Hwoarang’s new costume has been designed by Super Hiroaki, a Japanese illustrator. The costume is based around a traditional Taekwondo uniform, which is a more formal look than his previous flashy outfits. This could suggest a character shift for Hwoarang in the upcoming game. Additionally, Hwoarang appears to have two functioning eyes, unlike Tekken 7 where he lost sight in one due to an injury.

Alongside Hwoarang, Bandai Namco has announced the return of Lili, Asuka Kazama, and Leroy Smith to the Tekken 8 roster. The game has been completely reworked from scratch, with a focus on making it more spectacular to watch and play. GamesHub’s hands-on preview of Tekken 8 revealed that it felt faster and more explosive than its predecessors.

In conclusion, Tekken 8 is shaping up to be an exciting fighting game with a revamped roster. Fans can look forward to playing with Hwoarang and experiencing the new and improved gameplay in 2023.
