Japanese retailers have leaked the release date for Ubisoft’s upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. According to Gematsu, the boxed PlayStation versions of the game have been listed to release on October 12th. Placeholder dates are not common among Japanese retailers, and they usually do not date a product unless it is official. Therefore, the leaked release date could be accurate.

Probable Announcement Soon

Although Ubisoft has not confirmed the release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the leaked information makes it probable that an announcement is forthcoming. This announcement could even happen during the PlayStation Showcase tonight. If that is the case, we may also get a fresh trailer that showcases the “more intimate” setting of Baghdad.

New Game Mechanics

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will return to the classic stealth-based gameplay of the series. It will also be ditching most of the RPG elements that were present in the last few mammoth-sized AssCreed games. According to AliceB’s first impression of Mirage, after a hands-off presentation, it will not have a huge open world that will take players 120 hours to explore like Valhalla. This news will be a relief to gamers who struggled to fully engage with the last few games in the series.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity

Assassin’s Creed Infinity is another game to look out for, although it is a bit confusing. Ubisoft says that it will be “the single entry point for our fans into the Assassin’s Creed franchise in the future”. Infinity will connect all future games in the series and allow players to explore their own Animus. It is an in-between point between a storefront, a platform, and a live service. However, it is unclear when we will see any of this in action, or if we will have to wait for the next massive Feudal Japan RPG Project Red.

Fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise are eagerly anticipating the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. With a leaked release date of October 12th, the official announcement may come soon. The game will return to the classic stealth-based gameplay of the series and will not have a huge open world to explore like the last few mammoth-sized games in the series. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Infinity is a bit confusing, and it is unclear when we will see it in action.
