Respawn, the developers of Apex Legends, have announced the latest hero to join the roster for the upcoming Season 17: Ballistic. This new addition comes as a relief to fans who were disappointed with the lack of a new Legend in the previous season. Ballistic, who was in retirement, is now ready to get back in the game and will be available to play from May 9th.

His government name, August Montgomery Brinkman, is a reflection of his privileged upbringing. Viewers witness his late-night channel-hopping turn into an unwanted trauma recap as a news channel recounts his former career as a Thunderdome Games champion. After the loss of his brother-in-law, Ballistic retired from the games, and his grim seclusion led to his family abandoning him.
Ballistic’s alcoholism, anger issues, and wealth lead him to smash his TV, only to find out that his estranged son, Nathaniel, has qualified for the Apex Games. Fueled by regret and a desire to reconnect with his son, Ballistic decides to clean up his act and rejoin the Apex Games to show his son how it’s done and to keep him out of harm’s way.
