In a surprising turn of events, two beloved indie games, Cult of the Lamb and Don’t Starve Together, have come together to announce an exciting collaboration. Released today, this partnership brings updates and new content to both games, offering fans of these renowned titles even more to enjoy.

Cult of the Lamb, a critically acclaimed roguelike game described as “Animal Crossing meets Hades,” and Don’t Starve Together, the multiplayer component of the highly regarded survival game Don’t Starve, have joined forces. As part of the Don’t Starve series’ 10th anniversary celebration, publishers Devolver Digital and Klei Entertainment have combined their efforts to create a crossover experience for both games.

The latest patch notes for Cult of the Lamb reveal several exciting additions. Players can now include Webber, a character from Don’t Starve Together and Don’t Starve’s Reign of Giants DLC, as a new follower in their cult. Additionally, new spooky decorations such as the Deerclops Figure and Pig Head Flag have been introduced, adding a touch of eerie ambiance to your base. The game’s soundtrack has also been infused with inspiration from Don’t Starve, enhancing the immersive experience for players. However, the most significant update is the introduction of a new game mode called Patience, which incorporates survival elements into the gameplay.

The Patience game mode introduces life bars for Hunger and Sleep, both crucial factors in your character’s survival. When either of these bars drops to a critical level, a timer appears, causing damage with each tick. If left unattended, this can ultimately lead to the demise of your character. To avoid such a tragic fate, keen attention must be given to managing Hunger and Sleep, even during challenging quests and endeavors.

Don’t Starve Together has also received an update that includes various intriguing features. Although not as extensive as the additions to Cult of the Lamb, this update still brings unique content to the game. Players now have access to exciting login rewards in the form of item skins inspired by Cult of the Lamb. The Lamb, The Lamb’s Blade, Flock’s Chest, and The Lamb’s Reward are among the exclusive items available. Additionally, a new trinket, The Crown, can be obtained by fishing Wet Pouches from the oasis lake and presenting them to the Antlion, unlocking new blueprints.

While the update for Don’t Starve Together may not have quite the same magnitude as Cult of the Lamb’s additions, the unexpected collaboration between these two indie games is undeniably intriguing. It’s refreshing to see titles from vastly different genres come together in such a unique way, especially considering that these updates are offered to players completely free of charge. This unexpected partnership is a testament to the creativity and innovation present within the indie gaming community, and fans of both games are sure to appreciate the resulting enhancements to their beloved titles.
