As the year approaches its midpoint, May has a plethora of exciting game releases to offer gamers across different platforms. While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is undoubtedly the most anticipated release, there are several other games to look forward to.

One of the most significant competitors to Link’s new adventure is Redfall, Arkane Austin’s co-op FPS. The game features a city under siege from a legion of vampires and blends classic vampire lore with Arkane’s unique talent for worldbuilding. Although the game won’t be running at 60fps at launch, it’s still shaping up to be a colorful and interesting sandbox.

Later in the month, two horror games will keep gamers on edge. Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person horror game set in a desolate WW1 Bunker and will keep you on the edge of your seat with homicidal terrors lurking in the dark. The Outlast Trials, a new chapter from developer Red Barrels, mixes co-op-friendly design with spine-tingling frights.

For something less intense, check out Lego 2K Drive later in May. This open-world Lego racing game allows players to construct their very own custom vehicles to use in events across the sandbox. The key selling point of the game is the high-powered “Hamburghini” that players can burn rubber with on the track.

May’s other highlights include The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, in which the Hobbit formerly known as Smeagol gets a solo adventure, and Humanity, a human-herding game in which players guide mobs of people across dangerous terrain. Lastly, there’s TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3, a new chapter in which players can grab a superbike and explore the UK island at a relaxing and dangerous pace.

In conclusion, May has something for everyone, from adrenaline-pumping horror games to relaxing racing games. These upcoming releases are worth checking out, whether you’re a fan of classic vampire lore or prefer the excitement of high-speed racing.
