The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has expressed his eagerness to engage in a fight against Elon Musk, the owner of X. However, Zuckerberg has clarified that no scheduled date for the battle exists until confirmed by Musk himself.
Zuckerberg’s Response
In response to Musk’s claim that the fight would be livestreamed on X and “Meta,” with an Ancient Rome theme, Zuckerberg expressed his surprise and indicated that he was unaware of the rest of the details. He stated, “I love this sport and I’ve been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees on an actual date, you’ll hear it from me. Until then, please assume anything he says has not been agreed on.”
Musk had initially suggested the idea of a cage match in June, to which Zuckerberg had shown enthusiasm given his martial arts training and Jiu Jitsu experience. Despite Zuckerberg proposing an August 26th date for the fight, the event has not come together as anticipated. Furthermore, Musk’s recent statement about needing a few months to recover from shoulder surgery implies a potential delay in the match’s occurrence, if it happens at all.
Despite uncertainties surrounding a fight with Musk, Zuckerberg has hinted at a future fighting event, with or without Musk’s involvement. He stated, “Not holding my breath for Elon, but I’ll share details on my next fight when I’m ready. When I compete, I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of the game. You do that by working with professional organizations like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well and create a great card.” He even shared a photo from a training session in his own backyard octagon.
