Joker 2, officially titled Joker: Folie a Deux, has been making headlines for its rumored musical elements. However, star Zazie Beetz has recently revealed that the movie won’t be a full-on musical, but will feature some musical and dancing expressions. In an interview with Variety, Beetz stated that people will be surprised by the kind of movie that Joker 2 turns out to be. She believes that the musical elements will work well and make for an exciting and unique viewing experience.
Lady Gaga’s Involvement
Reports have suggested that Lady Gaga will star in Joker 2 as Harley Quinn. Gaga is an accomplished, Oscar-winning actress and singer, and her talents will be utilized with some musical elements in the sequel. She previously starred in A Star is Born, which was produced by Joker director Todd Phillips. With Joker 2 rumored to be similar to A Star is Born in terms of musical elements, Gaga’s involvement seems like a perfect fit.
Joaquin Phoenix’s Return as the Clown Prince of Crime
Joaquin Phoenix, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker in the 2018 movie, returns to play the Clown Prince of Crime in Joker 2. Phoenix is reportedly being paid $20 million for his role in the sequel. However, very little is known about the movie’s plot, except for rumors that it will take place partly inside Arkham Asylum.
Joker 2 Release Date
Joker 2 is slated for release in October 2024. While fans eagerly anticipate the movie’s release, the next big DC movie to hit theaters is The Flash, which premieres on June 16th. As for Joker 2, viewers can expect a unique and surprising take on the Clown Prince of Crime, with some musical elements sprinkled in for good measure.
