Capcom has revealed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be “roughly four times the size” of the original game. Game director Hideaki Itsuno announced this during the recent Capcom Showcase, where additional details about the game were also revealed.

Gameplay Details

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single-player game, like its predecessor. However, Capcom emphasized that the advanced AI in the game “really feels like playing in a party with other players.” Similar to the first game, players can customize one primary pawn and borrow two additional support pawns from other players online. The new pawns are capable of precise decisions, guiding players to new locations and executing a perfect high-five after a successful battle.

New characters have been introduced, including Urika, a bow-wielder with a deep connection to the player character, and Nadinia, the high priestess of the Beastren, a new species being introduced in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Additionally, new vocations and enemies have been added, including the Medusa.

Graphics and Engine

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is being developed in the RE Engine, resulting in a “dense world woven with high graphical fidelity.” Capcom promises a visually stunning experience for players.

Release Date and Platforms

There is still no confirmed release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2, but it is expected to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game’s announcement during the recent PlayStation showcase in May has excited fans who have awaited a full-fat sequel to the cult-classic RPG for over a decade.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 promises to be a much larger and immersive experience than the original game. Fans can look forward to new characters, vocations, enemies, and a visually stunning world. With no confirmed release date, anticipation for the game’s launch continues to build.
