Director James Wan has revealed the first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom during CinemaCon, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming blockbuster. The trailer introduces a new bromance between Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), who was the villain in the first movie.

New Threats and Unease

The trailer shows Aquaman as a new father and king of the ocean world, but he feels the tide shifting. Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is back with a new ally and weapon that Aquaman can’t face alone, so he has to team up with his half-brother to defeat the new threat. This new partnership isn’t smooth as they don’t get along well, but they have to put their differences aside to save the ocean world.

Amber Heard’s Reduced Role

The trailer showed very little of Amber Heard’s character, Mera, who was barely in the footage despite being the mother of Aquaman’s new baby. This reduction in her role comes after Heard’s much-publicized defamation trial against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, which she lost in December.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to be released in theaters in December. The movie promises to have everything fans loved about the first movie and more, including a new bromance, new threats, and epic action scenes. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this highly anticipated blockbuster.
