Nintendo’s June Direct brought exciting news for fans of Mistwalker’s RPG Fantasian, as Square Enix announced an enhanced version of the game. Titled FANTASIAN Neo Dimension and created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, known for the Final Fantasy series, this game is set to release on multiple platforms, including the Switch. The ESRB has recently rated the game as ‘E’ for everyone, citing fantasy violence, mild blood, mild suggestive themes, and use of alcohol and tobacco. Originally slated for a ‘Holiday 2024’ launch on the Switch, it seems that the game is still on track for this release window.

In Fantasian Neo Dimension, players will step into the shoes of a treasure hunter on a quest to regain his lost memory. As they traverse through a fantasy world, they will interact with various characters, recruit party members, and engage in turn-based combat against both human enemies and fantasy creatures such as golems, giant skeletons, and robot sentries. Players will have the ability to choose between weapon strikes and magic spells from a menu during battles, which are intensified by light bursts and screen-shaking effects.

The ESRB rating summary also provides insight into the content of Fantasian Neo Dimension. One boss creature is described as having blood streaks on its mask and armor, with still-screen images depicting blood drops on the ground and dripping from a character’s face. Additionally, some female characters in the game are designed with suggestive features, including deep cleavage and slight breast jiggle. These elements contribute to the overall fantasy-themed experience of the game, adding layers of depth and complexity to the storytelling and character interactions.

As the enhanced version of Fantasian prepares for its upcoming release, fans of turn-based RPGs and fantasy adventures have much to anticipate. With the creative vision of Hironobu Sakaguchi driving the game’s development, players can expect a rich and immersive gameplay experience that combines elements of storytelling, exploration, and strategic combat. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the original Mistwalker RPG or new to the world of Fantasian, this enhanced release promises to deliver a captivating journey filled with excitement and intrigue.
