Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a truly unique event in the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington. One wrong move and players can find themselves transformed into a sentient wheel of cheese. Surprisingly, Larian Studios has confirmed that 1.9 million players have fallen victim to this fate during their gameplay. This unexpected turn of events forces players to either restart the game or face 20 rounds of gameplay as a nearly useless 1 HP cheese wheel.
Beyond the cheese incident, players in Baldur’s Gate 3 have encountered a range of other wild experiences. For example, 3.5 million players have been sent back in time to face packs of roving dinosaurs through an optional side quest. Additionally, 2 million players have freed Us, a walking brain, from the Colony. Most excitingly, 377,000 Dark Urge players have managed to free Alfira and bring forth the dawn of lute rock.
In celebrating player accomplishments, Larian has revealed some interesting statistics. Only 141,660 players have completed Honour Mode, a challenging campaign featuring stronger bosses, strict rules, a single save file, and permadeath. On the other hand, 1,223,305 regular players have ended the game in defeat, with 76% of them choosing to delete their save game and start the final battle anew.
Among the player interactions in Baldur’s Gate 3, companion affection and romance play a significant role. Shadowheart emerges as the most-kissed game companion, receiving a total of 27 million kisses. Astarion follows closely behind with 15 million kisses, while Minthara lags behind with just 169,937 kisses. Interestingly, only 48.8% of players have been able to experience Shadowheart’s final romance scene, making her elusive to many players.
Moving into slightly more risque territory, Larian has confirmed that 658,000 players engaged in intimate interactions with Halsin. Shockingly, 30% of those players chose to be intimate with him while he was in bear form. Furthermore, 1.1 million players had intimate encounters with the tentacle-faced Emperor, with 37% opting for the “sensual pleasure of mind flayer tentacles.”
Amidst the more unconventional experiences, Larian has also shared some heartwarming statistics. The pet dog Scratch has been petted 120 million times by players, while the Owlbear Cub has received over 41 million pets. These positive interactions provide a contrast to the more bizarre and intense moments in the game, showcasing the diverse range of experiences players can encounter in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 offers players a wide array of unique and unexpected experiences, from turning into cheese to engaging in intimate moments with various characters. These diverse interactions contribute to the richness of the game world and allow players to craft their own stories within the fantastical realm of Baldur’s Gate.
