The comic shows Peter’s reluctance to sell Aunt May’s house following her death and his desire to have MJ move in with him. The Complicated History of Peter and MJ’s Relationship
For long-time Spider-Man fans, Peter and MJ’s relationship has been a source of frustration. For instance, in the infamous 2007 storyline One More Day, Peter sacrifices his marriage to MJ to a demon in an effort to bring Aunt May back to life. This leads to a controversial reboot of the Spider-Man continuity that has only recently been undone. Currently, the couple is separated because MJ spent years in an alternate dimension where she had children with another man.
Given this history, many fans are hopeful that Spider-Man 2 will finally see Peter and MJ settle into a stable, long-term relationship.
