Tony Gilroy, the writer and director who took charge of the reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has confirmed that there will be no further re-editing of the film. Rumors have been circulating among fans, but Gilroy dismissed them in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Gilroy stated, “I’m not going to go into any more detail. But the more authority that you hear people talk about online about what happened on that movie, the less they know. That’s all that needs to be said.”

Gilroy did acknowledge that there was unused footage that could have resulted in a different story, but he felt that the version released in theaters was “the absolute best version of that movie that you could possibly imagine in the time that was given.” Fans can now rest assured that the film will remain as is.
