Sony is set to release a free Spider-Man comic book on May 6 to mark Free Comic Book Day. However, this is not just any ordinary comic book. The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 prequel comic book takes place before the events of the upcoming sequel developed by Insomniac.

The story revolves around Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and M.J. as the former and latter return from their holiday in Symkaria, where they were during the events of Marvel’s Miles Morales. Unfortunately, M.J.’s book sales aren’t going well, and she has to appear on Jonah J. Jameson’s podcast to promote it. Meanwhile, the two Spideys interrupt the interview while fighting Tarantula. The rest of the comic follows the lives of all three characters as they try to pick up the pieces after the events of the past two games.

This prequel comic book provides the first glimpse into the story information pertaining to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While not much is known about the game yet, we do know that both Peter and Miles will be battling against Venom, voiced by Tony Todd, the legendary horror actor.

With the release of this comic book, Sony may start releasing more details about the game over the next few months. Insomniac has reiterated that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be launching this year, and fans eagerly await more details about the game. For now, fans can enjoy this free prequel comic book to get a sneak peek into the lives of their favorite characters.
