One of the most feared weapons in Destiny 2, the Recluse, is making a return in the upcoming Into the Light update. Bungie acknowledges that the weapon was previously too strong and overshadowed other damage perks. As a result, they have made adjustments to bring it more in line with other perks of a similar use case. The damage bonus for the Master of Arms perk has been reduced to 15%, aiming to balance its impact on the game.

The Mountaintop’s Adjustment

Similarly, The Mountaintop has undergone changes to prevent it from dominating the PvP meta. The unique micro-missile perk, which allowed grenades to fire rapidly in a straight line, is now an intrinsic trait of the weapon. This modification ensures that The Mountaintop can no longer one-hit kill in PvP, making it more balanced for both PvP and PvE scenarios. Bungie’s intention is for The Mountaintop to be on par with other Breech-Loaded Grenade Launchers in terms of competitiveness.

Luna’s Howl’s Revamp

Luna’s Howl, known for its ability to eliminate players quickly in Competitive PvP, has also received adjustments. The two-tap damage buff now requires more precise final blows to activate, adding a layer of skill to its use. Additionally, kills made while the buff is active will extend its duration, emphasizing the importance of maintaining accuracy with this weapon. Despite these changes, there are concerns about Luna’s Howl still being a strong contender in the game.

Overall, the reintroduction of these iconic weapons in Destiny 2 comes with a mix of excitement and apprehension from the player base. The adjustments made by Bungie aim to balance the gameplay experience and prevent a return to the overpowered era that these weapons once dominated. Only time will tell how these changes will impact the game and whether they will achieve the desired effect of creating a more competitive and diverse meta for players to engage with.
