LEGO has recently announced the release of multiple new sets in their Super Mario line, set to be launched on 1st August 2024. This exciting news comes after the revelation of Mario Kart-themed LEGO sets coming the following year. To commemorate Mario Day this year, LEGO has unveiled three new kits: The Bowser Express Train, King Boo’s Haunted Mansion, and Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle. Let’s delve into the details of each set and what they have to offer.

The Bowser Express Train set (71437) is designed to kickstart action-packed adventures for children aged 9 and above. This playset includes a detailed train, a handcar, 2 stations, a Super Star Block, ? Block, and 6 LEGO Super Mario toy figures such as Hammer Bro, Boom Boom, 2 Goombas, and 2 Para-Biddybuds. Additionally, the set allows for interactive play by adding LEGO Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures (sold separately). Kids can engage in thrilling activities like chasing the train in the handcar, operating the spinning platform on the locomotive, and activating the cannon wagon’s spring-loaded shooter. The set also features fun sounds like horn sounds as they drive Bowser’s Express to the station.

For children aged 8 and up, the King Boo’s Haunted Mansion set (71436) offers a spooky adventure in a buildable toy haunted house. The set includes King Boo, Yellow Baby Yoshi, Dry Bones, and Boo LEGO Super Mario figures. Similar to the previous set, interactive play is possible with the addition of LEGO Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures (sold separately). Children can explore playful details within the haunted house, such as an elevating sofa and a key-reveal function on the bookcase. They can collect rewards from the Coin Block, Chest Block, and Key Block, defeat enemies like Boo and Dry Bones, and ultimately open the treasure chest.

Lastly, the Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle set (71435) allows kids aged 7 and up to immerse themselves in a battle at an iconic Super Mario location. This set includes a LEGO brick-built princess’s castle model with features like collapsing walls, a tower, a catapult, a rotating throne, and a fountain in the garden. The set also includes Roy (appearing for the first time in a LEGO Super Mario set), Chain Chomp, and Toad LEGO Super Mario figures. Similar to the other sets, interactive play is possible with the addition of LEGO Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures (sold separately). Children can help defeat Roy, take control of his Chain Chomp, find hidden Action Tags, and unlock digital reactions like piano music.

The new LEGO Super Mario sets offer a range of exciting adventures and interactive play possibilities for children of different ages. From the action-packed Bowser Express Train to the spooky King Boo’s Haunted Mansion and the battle at Peach’s Castle, these sets bring the world of Super Mario to life in a creative and engaging way. LEGO continues to impress with their innovative designs and attention to detail in capturing the essence of the beloved franchise.
