The iconic superhero, Superman, is set to be reimagined once again in the upcoming DC Studios film, formerly known as Superman: Legacy. Director James Gunn recently announced the start of production on the film, coincidentally on Superman’s birthday. However, fans were surprised to learn that the Legacy subtitle has been dropped, making this the first standalone Superman film in decades.
One of the most notable changes in the upcoming Superman film is the redesigned Superman emblem. The emblem used in the film bears a resemblance to the one featured in his Kingdom Come costume, designed by Alex Ross. It features a sharper design with a thinner red border, along with a brighter yellow and blue color scheme, reminiscent of Henry Cavill’s costume from previous films. Additionally, the emblem is shown covered in snow, possibly alluding to Superman’s arctic Fortress of Solitude. Despite the new look, the emblem still embodies the symbol of “hope.”
