Redfall, the upcoming open world multiplayer game from Arkane Studios is set to release next week and the developers have now revealed the system requirements for running the game on PC. Interestingly, the game has already been verified for Valve’s handheld PC, the Steam Deck.

The minimum specs for running Redfall include an Intel Core i5-8400 @ 2.80GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, an AMD RX 580 or NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPU with 6 GB VRAM, 16 GB of system RAM, Windows 10 64-bit operating system and a 100 GB SSD.

For optimal performance, Arkane recommends an Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, an AMD 5700 or NVIDIA RTX 2080 or Intel ARC GPU with 8 GB VRAM, 16 GB of system RAM, Windows 10 64-bit operating system and a 100 GB SSD.

It is worth noting that the minimum spec requires a 100 GB SSD, which is unusual as recent games such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have only recommended an SSD and listed an HDD as the minimum requirement. However, there is no indication of expected frame rates for each spec.

Arkane has also released an accessibility guide for Redfall, which includes options for players to adjust the experience according to their preferences, such as screen narration, font scaling and more.

Steam Deck Verified

Redfall has already been verified as fully playable on Valve’s handheld PC, the Steam Deck, as indicated on the game’s Steam page. While it may not be the most ideal platform to play an open world multiplayer first-person shooter, it is still great to see developers supporting the new device.

While Redfall may be a departure from Arkane’s typical immersive singleplayer games, the game has not been generating much excitement so far. Hopefully, it will surprise gamers with something interesting when it is released next week.
