He stated that both their services and partner services have a rate limiter, which limits the number of connections allowed per minute to prevent system failure. However, the rate limiter has been strained since the game’s launch, prompting the team to increase the limit from 10,000 to 20,000 logins per minute and expand the total player capacity from 250,000 to 360,000. Unfortunately, the unexpected surge in player count from 250,000 to 360,000 within just over five minutes has further compounded the login issue. Players who are denied entry can either wait for someone to log out or exceed the maximum number of login requests per minute.
Another pressing concern is the malfunctioning reward system. Pilestedt admitted that while progress has been made in mitigating the issue, it is not yet fully resolved. Additional server maintenance is necessary to ensure the reward system functions as intended. In the meantime, he recommends rebooting the game to increase the chances of resetting the system. These problems with the reward system stem from the high server traffic and the incorrect tracking of player earnings. Pilestedt acknowledges the frustration this poses, particularly for new players who are keen to unlock desirable gear. He concludes with a sincere apology and assures players that the team is working tirelessly to address these issues.
