Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, may have passed away, but his archive lives on. Fans can now explore every Enterprise bridge on the official website, which has recently been digitized. The website may not be mobile-friendly, but it offers a unique experience for Star Trek enthusiasts.

By visiting roddenberry.x.io and navigating to “Bridge View,” fans can select a ship and explore its bridge. Users can use their desktop’s WASD keyboard keys and mouse to navigate the bridge and even sit in the captain’s chair or helm. Fans can also take a look at Picard’s ready room, pop into a turbolift, or open a panel or two. The bridges are fully decked out with flashing panels, labeled LCARS buttons, and moving UI elements.

The website features every single Enterprise, including those from the Kelvin Timeline and the Mirror Universe. Fans can also explore the bridge of the U.S.S. Voyager. Although a few bridges do not have views, such as the Alternate Future Enterprise from the final episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation or the Enterprise-E’s modifications for Star Trek: Nemesis, there is still plenty to explore.

The collection of digitized bridges comes from a collaboration with graphics company OTOY. The partnership has also released several videos of Star Trek luminaries, including John de Lancie exploring the Enterprise’s bridges, William Shatner speaking about his experience with the franchise, and other special guests.

The Roddenberry Archive and OTOY have also announced the addition of Majel Roddenberry’s voice to the archive in the coming months. Majel played various roles in the Star Trek franchise, including the voice of the ship’s computer. Her son Rod explains that Majel carefully recorded her voice phonetically in 2008. Her voice will now be preserved for future technology to bring it back to life.

In conclusion, the official website offers an exciting opportunity for Star Trek fans to explore every Enterprise bridge. Although the website may not be the most robust or mobile-friendly, it is still an excellent way to experience the franchise. With the addition of Majel Roddenberry’s voice to the archive, fans have even more to look forward to in the coming months.
