Elizabeth Olsen, known for portraying The Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has revealed that she does not miss being a part of the superhero franchise. During a recent video interview with Variety, Olsen shared that she has just finished playing the character for two years straight and that the break has been good for her personal growth as an actor. She also expressed her desire to build other characters and focus on other projects.

Despite her candid remarks, Olsen has reaffirmed her eagerness to return to the MCU, but clarified that she does not have a current contract with the studio. She also mentioned that her enthusiasm to come back to the franchise is still unfaltering, and that she is not aware if or when she will return.

Olsen is currently taking a break from the series and is looking forward to working with directors who have strong points of view. She named Reuben Oslin, Yorgos Lanthimos, Ari Aster, and Quentin Tarantino as examples.

Wanda Maximoff, Olsen’s character, made her first appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. However, it wasn’t until Phase 3 that the character became a prominent figure in the franchise. In 2021, Olsen led her own headline show in WandaVision and played the lead antagonist role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Currently, Olsen appears in HBO’s new series Love & Death, which is based on a true story about a murder in Texas in 1980 that occurred after a love affair gone very wrong. The series is adapted from the John Blossom and Jim Atkinson book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs.

In conclusion, despite her time in the MCU, Olsen is ready to expand her acting career by working on different projects and building other characters. Although she has expressed her desire to return to the franchise, she is currently focused on other endeavors and working with other directors.
