Rumors have been circulating for months about Nvidia’s highly anticipated refresh of the RTX 40-series GPUs. While the finalized specifications are yet to be confirmed, leaked information reveals the dates when these GPUs will be available for purchase. This article dives into the details, discussing the expected release dates, the refreshed models, and their potential performance improvements.

According to reports from Videocardz, the RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4080 Super will be officially announced on January 8th, 2024. Fans of Nvidia’s graphics cards can mark their calendars, as the retail availability is rumored to begin on January 17th, 24th, and 31st, respectively. Additionally, an unnecessary but still intriguing addition, the RTX 3050 6GB, is expected to hit the market in February.

Nvidia has a history of releasing refreshed versions of its base models around a year after the initial introduction. With the RTX 40-series, the pattern seems to repeat. For now, only the RTX 4070, 4070 Ti, and 4080 are getting updated versions. These three models will be announced together, most likely during the CES 2024 event. However, consumers will have to wait for unboxing videos and final reviews, as these will be rolled out gradually over a span of nine to 23 days.

The first GPU to be unveiled will be the RTX 4070 Super. Early rumors indicate that it will bear a striking resemblance to the RTX 4070 Ti, with only around 7% fewer shaders. If all other specifications remain the same but at a significantly lower price point than the Ti’s $799, the RTX 4070 Super might become the preferred choice for budget-conscious consumers looking for high-performance options.

The next anticipated release is the RTX 4070 Ti Super, expected to hit the market in the second-to-last week of January. This refreshed GPU is speculated to utilize a cut-down version of the AD103 GPU found in the RTX 4080. Its performance is expected to fall between that of the 4070 Ti and the 4080. While the price remains uncertain, Nvidia enthusiasts hope it stays as close to $799 as possible, making it an attractive choice for those seeking a balance of affordability and performance.
