Arkane Studios’ upcoming anti-vampire shooter, Redfall, has recently released its official PC system requirements. While they do not seem too demanding, the storage requirement of 100GB may pose an issue for those with small SSDs. However, the most notable thing missing from the requirements is the absence of specific resolution and framerate targets for each specification tier. This omission is particularly puzzling as the Xbox version of Redfall is confirmed to be limited to 30 fps. For comparison, the specifications for Arkane’s previous game, Deathloop, did provide such information.

The required specifications are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 @ 2.80GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: AMD RX 580 / Nvidia GTX 1070 / 6 GB VRAM
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Storage: 100 GB SSD

CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: AMD 5700 / Nvidia RTX 2080 / Intel ARC / 8 GB VRAM

Launch Trailer

The launch trailer for Redfall is now available, showcasing the game’s action-filled gameplay in a town overrun by vampires. The trailer also includes an Easter egg that fans of immersive sim games will surely appreciate. At the 23 second mark, a map of Redfall with a note about a local fire station rally is shown, with the rally’s time set at 04:51 am. This number, 0451, has been a famous password or keycode in immersive sim games such as System Shock, Deus Ex, BioShock, Dishonored, and more. The presence of this number in the Redfall trailer connects the game to Arkane’s previous releases, which are well known for their immersive sim genre. However, fans may be disappointed to learn that Redfall is a co-op shooter, and the chances of seeing a new Dishonored or Prey game in the future are slim.

Redfall’s PC system requirements are not too demanding, but the absence of specific resolution and framerate targets is puzzling. The launch trailer showcases the game’s action-filled gameplay and includes an Easter egg that connects the game to Arkane’s previous releases. While fans may be disappointed with Redfall’s shift to a co-op shooter, it still promises to be an exciting game in its own right.
