Honkai Impact’s highly anticipated Honkai Star Rail has finally been launched, and players have quickly identified the game’s first must-have meta character as Bronya, who is a Harmony-type Wind character specializing in support. Bronya’s expertise lies in her ability to allow a teammate to take their next turn sooner and with a significant damage bonus, while her ultimate increases the attack and critical damage of the team. Her damage bonuses and turn order manipulation make her an invaluable asset in every situation, giving her an edge over the rest of the standard character lineup and even the game’s launch rate-up character, Seele.

Seele is the first limited five-star character in Honkai Star Rail, and she excels at dealing single-target Quantum damage. Her skills and bursts hit hard, allowing her to take an extra turn whenever she lands a kill. This makes her a formidable opponent in boss fights, and she is generally considered the strongest DPS character available in the game.

Importance of Versatile Support Characters in Party-Based Games

In party-based games like Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact, versatile support characters are often more valuable than pure damage dealers. Bronya is the clear best of the standard units, and many players agree that she should be the highest priority if you’re looking to reroll for meta. Several beta testers have reported that Bronya hard carried them through a significant amount of content.

While it’s true that Seele is considerably stronger if you have Bronya on your team, Honkai Star Rail is balanced in a way that no one character is genuinely needed to clear any content. Therefore, there’s no need to feel pressured to get Bronya if you don’t like her, and it’s not necessary to spend any resources on standard pulls. It’s advisable to save your Stellar Jades for Special Passes, which can be spent on limited-time banners. Star Rail regularly gives out standard pulls, and reaching the 300 standard pity may take several months, but there’ll be plenty of other characters to enjoy in the meantime.

The good news for players is that Bronya is one of the seven characters available through the game’s standard Stellar Warp banner, which also shares a pool with the beginner Departure Warp banner. You’re guaranteed to receive one of these seven characters from the 50 pulls you can spend on the Departure Warp, and once you reach 300 pulls on the Stellar Warp, you can select a standard five-star character of your choice. This ensures that everyone can eventually guarantee Bronya or another standard character of their choice, which is a great feature.
