Blizzard Entertainment has announced the final open beta for Diablo 4, providing players with an opportunity to test server capacity ahead of the game’s launch on 6 June 2023. The event, named ‘Server Slam’, will be open to all players from 12 May at 12:00 pm PDT until 14 May at 12:00 pm PDT.

The beta session will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC, with couch co-op available for consoles, and cross-play and cross-progression for players on all platforms. However, players may face long queue times and other frustrations due to the high volume of participants expected to join the event.

While the open beta is still a test for the game’s servers, Blizzard has provided a detailed overview of what players can expect while playing through the game’s prologue and first act. It is important to note that character progress made during the open beta will not be carried over to the main game. Therefore, if players wish to experience the game entirely fresh, they should avoid joining the open beta.

To participate in the Diablo 4 open beta, players must download the ‘Diablo IV-Server Slam’ demo on their chosen console or PC via Battle.net when it launches on 10 May 2023 at 12:00 pm PDT. Once the file is downloaded, players must wait for servers to go live on 12 May 2023 at 12:00 pm PDT. They will have 48 hours to play through the game until servers close on 14 May 2023 at 12:00 pm PDT.

During the open beta, players can play through the game’s prologue and opening act and take on Ashava, a new demon boss that players must team up against. Ashava will be available to beat from 13 May at 9:00 am PDT and will be available to fight every three hours over the weekend.
